Participatory Project Management (PPM)

The Participatory Project Management (PPM) workshop was first developed by TorqAid in 2002, and since then over 45 of these courses have been facilitated throughout Australia and overseas. The PPM is designed for community development(CD)/project management (PM) practitioners, working on CD/PM projects in either urban or rural settings.  Participants from nearly 250 agencies/organisations have attended these courses, and please press here for a list of these.  Targeted clientele tend to come from the following:

  • Non Government Organisation (NGO) personnel - particularly project/field officers/managers
  • Government Department personnel, particularly those involved in CD/PM work
  • Australian/International Management Contractors (AMC/IMCs) involved in supporting aid projects
  • Individual CD/PM consultants; volunteers; or off-campus postgraduate students studying CD/PM at university  

From 2010, PPM workshops are now being instead facilitated by the Foundation for Development Cooperation (FDC) - www.fdc.org.au, which Chris Piper is joining as their Senior Training Coordinator (as well as Disaster Risk Reduction = DRR) Specialist.
